Dan'l camped out in Jessamine County's Tap's Cave in 1770.

Daniel Boone used Tap's Cave on the Kentucky River as a camp in 1770. In 1774, William Hickman hired Boone to survey 3000 acres on a creek in Jessamine County that was later named Hickman Creek. In the early 1780's, Daniel Boone surveyed and laid claim to 2300 acres of land between East Hickman and Spears. He built a cabin and lived on Marble Creek, 1783 to 1784.
